Mercury stations retrograde as the Sun is opposite the Galactic Center today. Translation: spiritual messages about a way forward are delivered.
Mercury will transit retrograde (appear to move backwards) through July 11. During this time, issues show up with conversations, communications, telecommunications, travel, and information. It is also not the best time to invest in expensive electronics or mechanical items. If possible, you are better off waiting until Mercury finishes its retrograde.
Mercury retrograde is best handled with patience.
To gain a wider understanding of what Mercury’s retrograde is telling us (Mercury rules messages), we look at the energetics of the degree where Mercury goes retrograde, and then look at the degree where Mercury goes direct (or appears to move forward again). This gives us a story with a beginning and an end.
This particular story of Mercury’s retrograde occurs (begins) at 15 degrees of Cancer and the Sabian symbol energetic of “a group of people who have overeaten and enjoyed it.”
Mercury stations direct (ends) at 06 degrees of Cancer and the Sabian symbol energetic of “game birds feathering their nests.”
What story do these two images say to you?
To me, in the context of present day, they say:
1 - Groups of like-minded/soul-minded people will continue to come together, but in accelerated ways. It’s the final stage of the “Return of the Bird Tribes.”
2 - These are the people who bring us joy.
3 - Replenish or establish stores of food and necessary supplies.
4 - Fortify your inner temple (strengthen your spiritual connection) and possibly your outer temple (your home).
Mercury is in square to the Black Moon at the time it stations retrograde. This means we want to think twice before we speak - during the entire retrograde! Better yet, refrain from speaking if angry. When Mercury and the Black Moon are mixing it up, it can take the skills of a wise old owl to hold one’s tongue and temper. Major communications/discussions should be saved until the Sun comes up the next day. Things look differently in the light of a new day (a new “Sun”).
The Summer of Retrogrades is in full force now with Mercury joining Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in retrograde. Chiron, Uranus, and Neptune will soon join the party. These planets are going back into the past to re-hash, revise, and rectify things. Jupiter and Pluto are one degree apart, bringing exponential amplification of transformation of all types.
This is why it is a good idea not to get to carried away with an idea! As these planets station direct one by one, we will be in a progressively new, structurally-transformed world. Things will continue to change dramatically.
I leave you with one of my favorite Sabian symbols, the symbol for the degree of the Sun today (27 Gemini): “A young gypsy, emerging from the woods, gazes at far cities.” What does your gaze ahead show you? This energetic is about DISCOVERY. The Sun’s close conjunction with the North Node (destiny, the future) tells us that today, if we are listening carefully, the best way forward is revealed, even when the planets are traveling backward.
